In the past few years, the Internet has gone from being a convenient way to do a few things (mostly just to entertain onesself) to being a near necessity for millions of people all over the world. Of course, the Internet itself is something of a utility these days, so it should be everywhere. But of course, it has not quite gotten to that level yet. There are still a few sections of the world where the cloud has not yet drifted in and taken over things. But of course, it will only be a matter of time before the Internet is everywhere you could ever be- even bigger than that credit card.
Have you ever used a smart phone? If not, you are seriously missing out on some incredible features. After all, the smart phones of today are a far cry from those things that used to just let you make and receive phone calls. Nowadays, you can do pretty much everything short of writing a novel on a smart phone- and they are probably working on some kind of an app to do that, too. The very nature of the smart phone is that it has so many functions, you would have to be a fool not to have one in your pocket.
Of course, the entire nature of smart phones and the cloud itself is changing on a daily basis. Since technology evolves, and the makeup of the Internet evolves right along with it, who may say how long it is going to be before the net is accessible from such improbable places as from submarines, or from elevators, or maybe even from the Moon. Truth be known, we have almost reached the point where every poor child from every ghetto can still log on, and see a world where they can be the equal of all of the silver spoon types.
